How to install Nyan Progress Bar

Nyan Progress Bar is a free Chrome extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store. Installation takes less than a minute and works on any Chromium-based browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera).

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing

    Visit the Nyan Progress Bar page on the Chrome Web Store. You can also reach it by clicking "Install on Chrome" from this site.

  2. Click "Add to Chrome"

    The blue "Add to Chrome" button is in the top-right of the listing. Chrome will show a permissions prompt — the extension only asks for access to youtube.com and music.youtube.com so it can draw the cat on the scrubber.

  3. Confirm the install

    Click "Add extension" in the confirmation dialog. The extension downloads (about 15 KB) and installs automatically. You'll see the Nyan icon appear in your toolbar.

  4. Open YouTube and enjoy

    Head to youtube.com and start any video. The cat scrubber appears on the progress bar immediately — no reload, no sign-in, no setup. The default Nyan Cat is selected; you can change it any time from the popup.
