Nyan Progress Bar is a free Chrome extension that replaces YouTube's flat red progress bar with a hand-picked animated cat. It runs entirely in your browser, asks for nothing, and adds a small piece of personality to the bar you stare at all day. Twelve cats ship out of the box β the original rainbow Nyan Cat, a pixel parrot, a glitch cat, a dancing Garfield, and several soft minimal silhouettes β and you can upload any GIF you like as your own custom scrubber.
The whole product is one tiny upgrade. You install the extension, pick a cat, and from that moment on every YouTube video and every YouTube Music track has a small mascot following the playhead. There is no account to create, no settings menu to learn, no premium tier. It just works, and once it is there you stop noticing it is doing anything β until it makes you smile in the middle of a video.

Install in one click
Add Nyan Progress Bar from the Chrome Web Store. The extension is around 15 KB, ships as a Manifest V3 build, and only asks for access to youtube.com and music.youtube.com.
Pick a cat
Open the popup and tap any of the twelve built-in cats β or drop in your own GIF. Your selection saves locally and applies instantly to every open YouTube tab, no reload required.
Fine-tune the position
Use the Height and Top offset sliders in the popup to make the cat sit perfectly on the scrubber. Each cat remembers its own settings so you can switch between themes without re-adjusting.
